I was born and raised in Glenwood, Minnesota where I attended Glenwood High School now known as Minnewaska Area. In high school I was involved in several varsity sports including football, basketball, baseball, and track. After high school I had the opportunity to play football at the University of St. Thomas for four years. Sports has been a big part of my life both as a student athlete and later as a youth coach in football, basketball, and baseball with my two sons. My wife Beth and I have been married for 30 years and live in Sartell, Minnesota.

After college I spent about 10 years working in finance both as bank loan officer and later as a stockbroker. I enjoyed those experiences but after several years I felt called into law enforcement where I spent the next 32 years starting with the St. Cloud Police Department and recently retiring as Police Chief for the City of Waite Park. Throughout my law enforcement career, I also worked as an Adjunct Instructor in Criminal Justice at St. Cloud State University.

After law enforcement I was hoping to find an opportunity in Christian ministry. Through a series of chance encounters with several people with current or past affiliation with FCA I felt lead to learn more about the ministry of FCA. I am very excited and honored to be a part an organization with such a rich history and tradition of faithful Christian service.  FCA brings together my enjoyment of sports, with my appreciation for the impact coaches have had in my life together with my love for Jesus Christ! I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to work with FCA within a region of the State where I grew up and have worked for so many years.
