TYRONE MAXWELL

Hello! My name is Tyrone Maxwell. I am originally from the Brooklyn Park area and I am a former collegiate athlete with a passion for both sports and ministry. I began my college journey playing basketball at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, before transferring to the University of Northwestern – Saint Paul. There, I continued my athletic career in football while earning my bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies, and meeting my beautiful wife Destiny, before graduating in 2024.

During my time at UNW, my desire to serve others led me to volunteer with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for two years. During that time, I felt a clear calling into ministry, which led me to officially join staff with FCA in October 2025.

I am deeply passionate about teaching the game of basketball and mentoring the next generation. I believe sports provide a powerful platform to impact young lives—not just athletically, but spiritually. My vision is to see basketball restored to its original purpose: a tool to reach youth and guide them into a loving, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
