Prayer is often viewed as something complex and intimidating. Yet Scripture presents a different picture, one in which prayer is both holy and deeply personal. Rather than seeking polished words or perfect prayers, God desires sincere hearts that come to Him honestly. At its core, prayer is an ongoing conversation with God, a way of knowing Him more deeply and growing in relationship with Him. Through Jesus Christ, we have direct access to the Father and are invited to come before Him with every joy, concern, question, and hope. We don't need to complicate it or be intimidated by it, afterall prayer is for us!

This year at Jr. Sports Camp, campers learned how to remain connected to Christ and His church, how to cultivate a Christ-like character, what it means to choose to love like Jesus, and how to stay committed to Christ. We are PROVEN in Jesus!

Southwest MN FCA hosted 342 campers, 88 huddle leaders, 24 coaches, 10 Worship Team and Tech volunteers and 44 additional volunteers from across Southwest Minnesota at Jr. Sports Camp. Wow! We are blown away by God's faithfulness to provide campers, coaches, and volunteers for this event year after year. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your prayers for this ministry and the coaches, athletes, and families we serve.

On Monday, April 13, SMSU FCA student leaders stepped into one of the biggest opportunities of their year as they hosted performance coach, author, and keynote speaker Jordan Montgomery of Montgomery Companies. What began as an idea quickly became a student-led effort marked by preparation, teamwork, and faith.

In the weeks leading up to the event, student leaders worked behind the scenes to secure funding, organize a dinner, coordinate program details, and personally invite teammates, friends, and community members. Excited yet nervous, they embraced the responsibility of hosting the evening with confidence and purpose. Every student stepped into a role of their own, whether managing technology, creating social media clips, ordering cookies, greeting guests, or introducing Jordan to the audience.

Their efforts reflected more than organization and planning as the evening was a beautiful reflection of service oriented leadership, the kind of leadership Jordan spoke about.

In Redwood Falls, the impact of FCA and FCA Camps is showing up in real and tangible ways. The Redwood Valley Area FCA Huddle has sent several kids over the last few years to Northland FCA Sports Camp! What God ignites at camp is proving to grow, shaping and transforming athletes and their teammates long after they return home.

For Redwood Valley Area Huddle leaders, Matt and Amber Lundeen, that transformation is exactly why they are eager to send athletes to Northland FCA Sports Camp each summer.

For decades, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes focused its ministry within the United States. In 2013, FCA officially launched FCA International, expanding the mission to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church, worldwide.

To support this growth, FCA adopted an “align and assign” model, pairing each U.S. region with a global region. This strategy builds long-term relationships, strengthens accountability, and ensures that every part of the world receives prayer, support, and partnership.



Currently, Minnesota FCA partners with sports ministry leaders in the following Southern African countries: Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, and the British Indian Ocean Territory.

These ministries are led by passionate local leaders. Meet Graciano, Toloane, Chris, Roy, and Selina who are reaching coaches and athletes in their countries every day.

Every February, Southwest Minnesota FCA invites coaches and their spouses to gather for a evening centered on fellowship, gratitude, and encouragement. Around tables filled with friends, both new and familiar, we enjoy a meal, laugh through friendly competition, and receive a message meant to equip and encourage everyone in attendance.

What happens when students and coaches come together for something that goes beyond their town? The Westbrook-Walnut Grove Huddle is answering that question in powerful ways. Discover how God is moving in and through the WWG FCA Huddle in a big way.

The FCA SMSU Softball huddle is a welcoming space where athletes explore faith at their own pace, share a meal, and engage in honest conversations around Scripture. Huddle coaches Gina and Bailey intentionally create an environment where questions are encouraged and faith can grow. As a former SMSU softball athlete, Bailey brings both experience and compassion, understanding firsthand the challenges of competing far from home and the importance of keeping God at the center. On October 8th, Southwest MN FCA hosted its annual Fields of Faith event. Over 1,000 athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across Southwest Minnesota came together for a night of worship, testimony, and truth!

On Sunday, September 14th Southwest MN FCA hosted our 2nd annual donor dessert event called "Taste of Gratitude." This event was created to be an evening of sincere appreciation for FCA donors who faithfully help to further the gospel in Southwest MN. We tailor this evening to share the personal impact donations have on students, coaches, volunteers, families, and communities. This year's event hosted several student speakers and a coach who each shared the impact FCA has had on them. From local huddles to FCA camps and Coaches' retreats, the gospel is being shared and lived out, transforming hearts and building Christ-centered community across the region.

Coaches TimeOut (CTO) is FCA’s marriage ministry, prayerfully designed to help coaches and their spouses grow deeper in their walk with Jesus Christ while strengthening the covenant of marriage He has established.

In the high-stakes world of competitive sports, coaches are often pulled in every direction working long hours, traveling, and facing relentless pressure to win. Though many strive to leave the stress of the job at the gym or on the field, it often follows them home. But God never intended for marriage to take a backseat to success.

At CTO, we believe that with Christ as the foundation, coaches can pursue both their calling and a Christ-centered marriage. FCA staff and their spouses come together to help CTO events focus on helping coaches and their spouses to reinvest relationally, rest meaningfully, and renew spiritually.

The SWMN FCA Board started back in 2011 with just 8 board members. Based in the hometown of FCA's Area Rep, Robin Knudson, the board worked together to host potlucks, coaches banquets, and to organize concert fundraisers. As FCA's reach in Southwest MN extended, more board members were added to work on the ministry.

In 2023, Robin took on the role of Southwest MN FCA Area Director. With the addition of teammate and Administrative Assistant, Wendy Graven, and the continued growth of Southwest MN FCA, the board has changed in both structure and leadership style to accomodate a further reach of the Gospel.

SW MN FCA hosted 300 campers, 94 huddle leaders (high school and college kids), 22 coaches, and 45 volunteers from across Southwest Minnesota at Jr. Sports Camp this year. Wow! We are blown away by God's faithfulness to provide campers, coaches, and volunteers for this event year after year. Praise the Lord for 14 years of FCA Camp here in Southwest MN! YME FCA began hosting this event in 2023 with the intention of creating a fun, positive atmosphere for everyone, athlete or not, to come together, let loose, and most importantly hear the Gospel. Volleyball is just a tool to accomplish our mission of sharing with others the hope we have in Jesus Christ!

We aim to share and glorify God by opening the night in prayer and having our FCA huddle stand in recognition of their participation, which opens the door for them to have conversation with others. We also invite a guest speaker to come and share their testimony and proclaim the Gospel to a gym full of students, athletes, staff, parents, and grandparents! 

Every other year Robin Knudson takes students who desire leadership training and participate in FCA at Marshall High School to FCA Leadership Camp in St. Simons Island, Georgia; the same camp Robin gave her life to Christ at as a high schooler! This has become a highly anticipated camp for those who attend the Marshall FCA huddle. Campers receive excellent training on how to be disciples who make disciples by way of FCA's E3 model of engaging, equipping, and empowering.

MN FCA has offered up a challenge to each regional FCA Area Director to engage their communities in supporting their area's CAMP SCHOLARSHIP fund! Southwest MN FCA will receive matching funds (up to $1000) for all scholarship specific financial donations made between now and May 1st! Many camp scholarships are given every year to student-athletes and coaches who participate in FCA locally and desire to attend FCA Camps.

Southwest MN FCA gave out $8700 in scholarship monies from the summers of 2023 and 2024! Those scholarships helped send 97 athletes and coaches from Southwest MN to camp! Your donation matters!
