Edina Outreach Event: Led by Students, Moved by God

Tanja Hansen • April 17, 2026

Last month, several schools hosted outreach events, creating intentional opportunities for students to hear the Gospel on their campuses. At Edina High School, however, those plans were unexpectedly put on hold due to administrative complications. What had been prepared for and anticipated, was suddenly delayed.

But God was not finished.

This week, every barrier was removed, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Garden In Manhatten, Campus Faith Clubs, and Collision ministries all united together to host a three-day outreach during their lunch periods. What once felt like a closed door became a wide-open opportunity, a reminder of the truth in Revelation 3:8, that when God opens a door, no one can shut it.

Students stepped out in faith. They set up outside, took advantage of the spring weather, and began inviting their peers to come and listen. Lunch period after lunch period, students gathered. Conversations happened. The Gospel was clearly shared.

More than a well-executed event, this was a moment of obedience.

And God moved.

Over the course of three days and nine lunch periods, more than 1,000 students attended.

And even more incredible, over 100 students responded to the Gospel and accepted Christ for the first time!

This is the kind of moment we pray for. Not because of the numbers themselves, but because each number represents a life, a student who heard the truth of the Gospel and responded.

What makes this even more powerful is that FCA at Edina began just one year ago. This is not the result of a long-established ministry, but of student leaders who have chosen to step forward in faith and take ownership of the mission in their school.

They planned diligently. They showed up boldly. But most importantly, they walked in obedience to what God placed on their hearts.

This is the heartbeat of FCA. A ministry where students lead, where the Gospel is central, and where faith is lived out in real and visible ways on campus.

What happened at Edina is a glimpse of what God continues to do through students who are willing to stand for Christ in their schools.

Praise God for what He has done and for what He will continue to do!
