The Minnesota FCA Homecoming event last month was a time of reunions, laughter, worship, and prayer. But what really set the night apart were the testimonies of how clearly God has been working and continues to work in the lives of student athletes, coaches, and adults alike through the ministry of FCA. This night created the space to celebrate those stories and give Him the glory for it all. Ranging from a group of men and women who have been meeting together for Bible study and doing life together for the past 40 years to a young collegiate athlete who was forever changed at a FCA camp. Sara DeSmet's testimony is just one example of how FCA is still changing lives today (video above).
So, how will Minnesota FCA continue to impact lives for Christ now and in the future?
Engaging with coaches and athletes.
Roger Ross, AD for Urban Ventures, shared at the Homecoming event how they are partnering with FCA to pour into their coaches. FCA staff are walking their coaches through the 3Dimensional Coaching model, equipping them to better serve the athletes they work with on a daily basis as well as grow in their own faith.
Equipping them to become Christ-centered leaders and e
mpowering
them to use their influence to impact the communities around them for Jesus Christ.
"We believe that when it comes to the harvest of the public school, the one with the most influence that God is going to use as a laborer is the well-trained student leader - who knows Christ and is following Christ. Our job as adult leaders is to equip them to lead and disciple others."
-D.J. Miller, FCA Huddle leader for over 20 years across four schools, currently co-leading the Andover huddle
Also celebrated at the Homecoming event were our 2017 Hall of Faith recipients - more amazing stories of how God has changed lives through this ministry. Hear the stories of this year's recipients for yourself by watching the video below.
