2024 Summer Interns

Tanja Hansen • June 7, 2024

Another Minnesota summer means another team of FCA Interns! Our crew is smaller than in years past, but we are confident that these three young men have BIG hearts for Jesus Christ and are going to impact the lives of young people with their ministry!

The 10-week Minnesota FCA Summer Internship can be viewed in two buckets:

  1. Personal Growth - We pour into our intern team with Christ-centered faith and leadership development.
  2. Kingdom Growth - We give our interns the opportunity to take what they've learned and put it into action with local FCA huddles, camps, and events.

We focus heavily on Christ-centered leadership training and ministry opportunities including leading and directing summer FCA camps, serving as Huddle Leaders at the Northland FCA Regional Sports Camp and Leadership Camp, mentoring high school leaders involved in their FCA campus ministry, participating in FCA fundraising events like our Golf Classic, and building relationships with other like-minded ministries and churches.

So, without further ado, meet this year's intern team!

Jaeger Ash

Hi! My name is Jaegar Ash and I am from Milaca, Minnesota. I am super excited to join this FCA team as an intern this summer!

I currently attend Bethel University in Arden Hills where I major in both Business Marketing along with Missional Ministries. I also play football for the Royals. Through football I got involved in FCA around the Metro area which led me to want to do this for the summer!

Throughout this summer I hope to grow my ministry experience and reach young people and coaches around the area to give them the tools to develop a relationship with God. I am excited to be working with a group of strong believers with the same passion as me! It is going to be a great year with this group of people!

Matthew Willert

Hi! My name is Matthew Willert and I am from Buffalo, MN. This fall, I will be entering my 5th year of college at St. Cloud State, where I am pursuing a degree in Addiction Counseling with a minor in Exercise Science.

I have been playing basketball my whole life and have spent the past four years playing on my college team. This past season, my team and I started a team Bible study, with the help of FCA. It was through the leader of that study where I learned about the summer internship that FCA has to offer.

I am pursuing this internship with FCA because I am interested in experiencing working for a ministry and it sounds like a great way to spend my summer. Working with other believers while leading and helping high school kids sounds like a great experience. Also, It is a good opportunity to see if I am a good fit in vocational ministry and/or coaching.

Christian Palumbo

Hi, my name is Christian, and I'm excited to join the FCA team in Minnesota this summer to share the Gospel through sports outreach.

I graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship, a minor in youth ministry, and a master's degree in business administration. During my time at Liberty, I served as a residential assistant and a graduate student assistant for Evangelism 101, which helped develop my passion for working with young adults and youth.

My desire to join FCA stems from a deep passion for both people and athletics, and a commitment to reaching those who do not yet have a personal relationship with Christ. This summer, my goal is to equip and empower athletes and coaches to take the next step in their faith journey toward Jesus. I am very excited to join the team of FCA leaders in Minnesota this summer, and I am looking forward to the many amazing things that God will do.
