Hastings Fields of Faith 2024

Hastings High School has faithfully put together a Fields of Faith event for many years. Each October, at Todd Field in the center of the town, they've invited young students to gather and worship God together, stand shoulder to shoulder, committing to following Him together each day in the halls of their school, hear from students whose lives have been changed by the good news of Jesus Christ, and present that gift to anyone who wants to take hold of it that very evening. And many have. It truly is a field of faith each October.

Hastings Fields of Faith had a huge turnout. It typically is for them as this is a longstanding tradition. Even the year when there threatened to be a huge storm, the band had even canceled, and they STILL had over 150 students show up inside their gym. This year was no different.

The energy in the stadium was unifying. The entire event was an invitation. An invitation to each person in that stadium to get to know Jesus personally. An invitation for each person to experience the Hastings Huddle and learn what it's all about. An invitation to become a disciple and make disciples by being engaged, equipped, and empowered through God's word.

Fields of Faith is a catalyst for Hastings High School in the work that Coach Andy Lutz and his team of teachers and student leaders are doing to see the gospel advanced. It is just one of the pieces of the puzzle of their mission. In the very first huddle of this year, they had over 100 students in attendance and couldn't fit in the room they'd gathered in! They've prioritized getting Bibles into the hands of those who don't have one. We're working with them to provide this valuable resource. Hastings also prioritizes attending our yearly LEADership Camp at the beginning of August.

This camp is designed to build strong foundations of faith and growth as disciples for those who will be helping to lead the huddle for their school each year. Hastings has a strong turnout at LEADership Camp because they know the fruit that comes from having a healthy huddle and strong student disciples. Every three years at LEADership Camp, we start the camp on Thursday night with a mock Fields of Faith on the University of Northwestern’s football field. We want to show the students who light a lift it is to do something with incredible impact, spreading Jesus’ name on their campus. So that they know the mission of making that same opportunity available in their halls and schools. Hastings takes that mission full on. Praise God for the fruit to come from their faithfulness.
